Physical Science A

Bellwork:
    1.  Explain how the speed of a wave is affected by the medium that it is traveling through.

    2.  If the frequency of a wave is 20 Hz and the wavelength is 40 meters, what is the wavespeed?

Grab a whiteboard.  We will go over the wavespeed problems.  If you have a question on how the solution was determined, please stop me so we can go over the problem.

Objectives:
1.  Understand what simple harmonic motion is and how it relates to wave motion.
2.  Understand what occurs when a wave strikes a boundary.

Bellwork:
    1.  The biggest difference between primary and secondary succession would be the presence of what?

    2.  Explain how the steps of succession lead to the change in plant and animal species found with in a     given area.
   
    3.  What are some examples of disturbances that can lead to ecological succession?

    4.  What are the three forms of parasitic interactions?

Check your flip-books by the end of the hour.

Finish you biome sheets.  Remember that you are doing this as a group and each member is providing input to the group.  In the end, your information should be able to provide you with a general description of each of the biomes found here on Earth.

HW: Read Chapter 5.  Focus your reading on the ideas of what factors affect populations.
