Physical Science A(Tuesday)

Bellwork:
    1.  Explain the controls found within a car that can cause acceleration.

    2.  Consider a situation where a car is traveling around a corner with a constant speed.  Is the car     accelerating?  Explain.

    3.  A car takes off from a stop sign and accelerate to a velocity of 45 m/s in a time of 10 seconds.      What is the acceleration of the car?

Objectives:
Be able to calculate the acceleration of an object given the change in velocity and time.

Describe the motion of an object given a velocity vs. time graph.

Go over the acceleration problems using the white boards.  Discuss any difficult problems.

Discuss velocity vs. time graphs.

Hand out the extra practice problems.

Explain the lab for tomorrow.

You will have a quiz tomorrow over acceleration.
HW:  Finish the extra practice problems.  Study for the quiz!

Physical Science B

Bellwork:
    1.  What happens to the resistance of a series circuit as light bulbs are added to the circuit?  A parallel     circuit?

    2.  What factors affect the resistance of a wire?

    3.  What happens to the net charge of a wire that is connected within a circuit?
***Have the section three review questions out so I can check them!***
Objectives:
-Understand what factors are used to determine electric power.
-Understand how electric energy is calculated.
-Be able to identify how much various energy various household devices use.

Discuss the review from yesterday.  Answer any question that you may have had trouble with.

Go over the OHM's Law problems and Power Problems from the friday before break.

Discuss electric power and energy.

Hand-out and explain the home energy audit activity.  You will keep track of this for a period of three days. These will be collected next monday.

Hand out and explain the power problems.

HW: Work on the energy audit at home.  Finish the power problems.  We will check and go over these tomorrow.
