Physical Science A

Bellwork:
    1.  Draw the following graphs of velocity vs. time:
            a.  increasing velocity, constant acceleration
            b.  Decreasing velocity, constant acceleration
            c.  Constant velocity

    2.  Explain how to determine the total distance traveled using a velocity time graph.

    3.  A rocket takes off from the launch pad and reaches a velocity of 540 m/s in a time of 15 seconds.      What is the acceleration of the rocket?

    4.  Using your idea and understanding of acceleration, explain a possible reason as to why people may     get sea sick on boats?

Objectives:
    1.  List and describe the typical force that you experience and interact with on a daily basis.

    2.  Draw vector diagrams (arrows with magnitudes) that Identifies the magnitude and direction of everyday forces
(e.g.,     wind, tension in ropes, pushes and pulls, weight).

Go over the lab.  Discuss any issues with the lab.
Hand back the acceleration quiz

Begin discussing forces.

HW: Free body diagrams.

Physical Science B
Bellwork:
    1.  Why does electricity have such a dramatic effect on the human body?

    2.  What are two types of light bulbs?

Quick Activity:
    1.  On a separate sheet of paper come up with two problems, one that asks a question on OHM's law and the     second on electric power.  When everyone has finished, put your name on it and pass it forward.

Objectives:
    1.  Understand the difference between AC and DC current.  Be able to identify the sources of these two     types of current and how they are produced.

Use the whiteboards to go over the power problems.  Discuss any difficulties you may have had with the formula.

Wrap up electricity today when we discuss AC vs. DC current.

HW: Answer or explain the concept expectations.

Don't forget that we will have a Test on monday.  Also, after the test we will wrap up the home energy audit.  I will give you the spreadsheet so you can plug in the numbers.
